Dress the HICAP negative lead through the plastic guide on the inside of the left side metal bracket. The lead will be held in place even if you don't close the guide. If you feel you do need to close it completely, it can be closed if you push (very hard) with a large blade screwdriver from the right side through the underside of the bike.
